We are a collective TRUENO

We are a small but diverse group of queer people united by our desire to manifest better worlds through technological spells.

We meet every week to learn and build together at AKASHA Hub.

Our mission is to connect local queer people involved in technology to cultivate a community where we can share knowledge and build together.

We believe that there are worlds to imagine outside of Big Tech narratives, and we want to manifest them through physical meetups where concrete projects, mutual support networks, and mentoring can flourish.

Projects

We are developing various projects within the collective:
  • Social Media Lab. This will be a monthly meet-up open to everyone, where we will help each other record and edit material for social media. We will talk about decentralised social media and, amid laughter, share the fruits of our labour at the end.
  • Queer Co-learning. These will be regular meet-ups where we will get together to share knowledge, plan and learn together. Many people have ideas and projects that they don’t pursue because they feel alone. These meet-ups aim to help and encourage each other so that these projects can move forward.

  • App sobre Sitios Seguros. We are building our first software project, an application to collect and share safe places for the community, taking into account issues of intersectionality and diverse needs.

  • Mentoring. We currently have two mentors interested in guiding queer people seeking employment in the technology industry. Our intention is to connect other mentors interested in helping local queer people enter the technology sector to achieve a better life.

  • Digital Autonomy.  Inspired by the projects  IndieWeb  and  Vámonos Juntas We are preparing a project to promote digital autonomy in local groups and initiatives. This initiative is linked to the Social Media Lab.
