We are creators, researchers, activists, makers, and thinkers focused on building a more sustainable society through experimentation and innovation.
You too can join us and collaborate with us as an in-person or remote community member of AKASHA Hub #digitalmember
We redesign society from the neighborhood.
We reinvent the future together.
Community membership is a voluntary and symbolic contribution to support the continuity and sustainability of AKASHA Hub as a community project, as well as the maintenance of its basic infrastructure and daily operations.
Members can participate in and attend the activities, meetings, and initiatives promoted by AKASHA Hub for the community, as well as visit the project, get to know the space and the community, and participate in informal gatherings, such as community lunches or dinners, within a framework of trust, curatorship, and prior communication.
Attendance at the hub is built relationally, taking into account ongoing processes, community dynamics, and the smooth functioning of the project, and not as free or permanent access to the space.
Community membership does not include the use of workspaces and fabrication spaces, which operate with their own frameworks, conditions, and fees (coworking, fab lab, prototyping, or spaces for activities and events). Even so, membership may be taken into account, in certain cases, when defining adapted conditions or rates, always within a separate, agreed framework consistent with the project’s values.
We offer individual and collective community memberships, if you’d like to join with your colleagues from your organization or project.
For more information, visit our profile on OPEN COLLECTIVE, or click the button below to become an individual community member.
If you want to be a resident at AKASHA Hub and are looking for a space to develop, co-work, or co-create your project, research, or prototype within an active, interdisciplinary community that creates solutions and tools for a positive impact on the city or the world—a decentralized, self-funded community with a unique and different governance model that prioritizes the common good—then we are your space and community, your civic infrastructure with whom you will collaborate and move forward together!
If you work for a project or company with social impact and need to maintain your routine within a community ecosystem and collaborate on new projects, connecting with more people aligned with your values and vision, then we are also your space and community 🙂

From our COR
AKASHA Hub Barcelona is a community project, primarily focused on citizenship. Several of us are putting all our love, effort, knowledge, and energy into taking the project to a safer and better next step, collaboratively and without individual financial contributions. We don’t have a formal employment structure; those of us who run the project are volunteers. Therefore, we all care for the hub with the common good in mind, driven by good intentions and without selfishness.
AKASHA Hub, as an entity, does not depend on public funding. Resident projects or new projects generated within the hub may apply for grants or subsidies.
Our physical infrastructure—the two warehouses we have for co-working, co-creating, and prototyping—are rented spaces paid for by resident fees, event rentals, and some of the services we’ve created, such as mentoring, consulting, circular design, and social and solidarity economy initiatives, among others.
Every contribution and exchange of knowledge is valuable to our community. As a hub, we always need new people, new ideas, and solutions to keep improving and moving forward. For eight years, we’ve been working tirelessly, striving to grow step by step, always from a collaborative perspective, focused on the common good, and building possibilities for a more sustainable, humane, and socially responsible future.
We have tasks to complete, research to begin and continue, and ideas to prototype. We would love to have you join us and start changing the world together. We’ll explain how we work and keep you updated on everything we’re doing.
