Urban Planting Project

Sustainable actions that unite the environment and food.

Upp proposes urban food production using the hydro-aquaponics system, generating various advantages such as increased biodiversity, health benefits and community cohesion.

His proposed solutions are:

  1. Greening façades and rooftops
  2. Promote the autonomous cultivation of food through hydroponics and aquaponics
  3. Experimenting with how to grow food more efficiently in small urban spaces
  4. Carrying out activities and actions to share knowledge and promote greening techniques in the city and food cultivation at home, in schools and in communities.

Climate Awareness Workshop for Schools

Urban Planting Project has created a special workshop to raise awareness about climate change and food sovereignty.

The workshop consists of two activities, one dedicated to sustainable education and one performative activity.

Both aim to help students understand the importance of reconnecting with nature and protecting it. Learning to take care of our food and knowing that we can create our own green space at home.

Seedling Workshop: learn at school and apply it at home!

Upp proposes creating your own seed garden at school and then applying what you learn at home, as well as learning how to do it using recycled materials.

It is a collaborative workshop between students so that together they can recognise the importance of community planting and care.

The Breath of the Forest by Annamaria Giacomelli

The performance complements the seed workshop, helping to understand the relationship between nature and human beings.

The original work has several stories with a total performance time of one hour. To make it more dynamic and accompany the seed workshop, the work is reduced to 20 minutes, selecting only one of the stories, which tells of the long-standing friendship between a man and a tree.
