From waste to resource: Replicable circular systems for composting, cultivation and community empowerment

The problem

Organic waste s climate impact
60% of urban organic waste still ends up in landfills, generating methane emissions.

Cities lack attractive solutions.
Composting systems are complex, unattractive and disconnected from everyday life.

Food systems are degrading the soil.
Urban food production often ignores living soil and microbial health, which reduces nutrient density and biodiversity.

Our solution

We have developed a compact and modular vertical garden with an integrated composting system, designed for public and community spaces, even in areas with very limited surface availability.

The system allows citizens to transform the remains of daily food into fertile soil in situ, while cultivating fresh and healthy vegetables and plants.

By integrating vermicomposting and vertical cultivation into a single modular structure, the solution creates a living ecosystem where organic waste, worms, microorganisms and plants interact in a continuous and beneficial cycle.
