From waste to resource: Scalable circular systems for composting, farming and community empowerment
The problem
Organic waste = climate impact 60% of urban organic waste still ends up in landfill, generating methane emissions.
Cities lack attractive solutions. Composting systems are complex, unappealing and disconnected from everyday life.
Food systems are degrading the soil. Urban food production often ignores living soil and microbial health, reducing nutrient density and biodiversity.
Our solution
We have developed a compact, modular vertical garden with an integrated composting system, designed for public and community spaces, including areas with very limited floor space.
The system enables people to turn everyday food waste into fertile soil on site, whilst growing fresh, healthy vegetables and plants.
By integrating vermicomposting and vertical farming into a single modular structure, the solution creates a living ecosystem where organic waste, worms, microorganisms and plants interact in a continuous and beneficial cycle.
A single modular structure for growing and composting.
